Charles and Ray Eames office chairs are so stylish, familiar and iconic when set in an office environment that it is difficult to believe that they were originally designed as outdoor seating.
Their outdoor origins can be seen in the major technical innovation achieved by the Eames - the use of a suspended back, originally manufactured in mesh. Just a little like a canvas deck or director’s chair, only massively more sophisticated and comfortable.
Made available to the public for the first time in 1958, the chairs rapidly became adopted in all kinds of domestic and business settings but it is as office furniture that they have made their mark, largely thanks to the fact that they provide day-long, desk-side comfort.
Oh, and they look great, too.
Pash Living’s Eames-inspired chairs come in a variety of different designs as well as leather and mesh options. Nothing else says to clients and colleagues that you know your design icons quite as well as being seated in an Eames. And little else keeps you quite as relaxed.
